Founder's Blog #34

Hello all,

I hope everyone has made the most of our late (and slightly pathetic) Summer, unless some of you have been fortunate enough to go away.

During the month of August, I have yo-yoed from one illness to the next. An allergic reaction kick started a series of both MS related and unrelated symptoms from which I am still trying to fully recover. I feel like I am hosting a pharmaceutical factory, along with enough lemons and water that would enable me to turn into a tree at any given moment. All that said, I am now on the road to recovery, but I have become extremely aware at how MS does not respond well to any health problems and makes most roads to recovery very slow and difficult. I also have my bi-annual treatment this month so lots going on!

The greatest news of all is that East Surrey Hospital have been in-touch and our first meeting to begin the process of setting up a Sportin MS support centre, begins next month. I will keep you informed on this process and together we can go through all the stages of this great accomplishment. I sometimes think somebody should have been filming this charity from the beginning because there are great new things to come and it will be quite a story to tell. Anyway, I am excited to unfold everything and report back all the steps we take, together. Hopefully you can all help me with any challenges along the way seeing as I am here thanks to all your fantastic support.

It’s really great to tell you all that your support and donations over the past few years have accumulated to grow this charity to such a place that it is now. I am extremely grateful. There are countless MS sufferers who will begin to directly benefit from what everyone has contributed and I can’t wait.

I look forward to sharing next month.

Lots of love,

Antoinette
