Founder's Blog #32

Hello all,

Hope everybody is enjoying the break from the rain and beginning of the warmer days. This month I would like to start by acknowledging some people that have been significant figures within our charity that are no longer with us. Christopher Peter Davies auctioned his services as an accomplished chef, raising a significant amount of money for Sportin MS before he sadly passed away. I feel that he needs another mention, alongside Steven McCarthy (Wallet) – who hosted a fantastic Bingo evening for the charity and who’s family chose Sportin MS as a charitable donation at his funeral, raising over £600. However, both will always be in our hearts, simply as friends and wonderful people.

The charity is also sad to accept that John from Web and Prosper has decided to retire, the man who put Sportin MS onto the world of the internet and gave us a universal platform. I cannot thank him enough. Also, Harry McKinley who produced our podcasts will continue to contribute to Sportin MS in the future.

I am, however, extremely excited to announce that the Sportin MS website will now be managed by Jordan Bunyan – he has started with a full re-design so please take a look at the new, bright, young perspective of our charity’s website at the same address www.sportinms.co.uk – I am very proud.

Lots of changes for us, hopefully taking us to new places. As we manage all that is around us, I encourage you to share our dream of getting all diagnosed with MS to unite and support each other so that we can grow as a community.

Our Wild Wild West fundraising event is just a month away and we are very excited! I have been attending the line dancing classes in preparation – it has been such fun. For those of you who have booked, the times of the classes were sent to you so do take advantage. Looking forward to seeing everyone and their wonderful fancy dress, as always…

Lots of love,

Antoinette
