Well, I think you will empathise with my delay in posting this month's blog, when I tell you that I have just returned from visiting my parents and siblings in Trinidad. As I mentioned previously, I had been treated for pneumonia prior to my departure and I cannot emphasise enough how necessary it was for me to leave the cold and spend time in a high vitamin D environment.

The one thought that I would like to share with you all is how important it was for my physical and mental health, to be in a place where there were no secrets with regards to my illness. I needed, wanted and enjoyed being looked after, loved and understood, with no secrets or fear. When I was tired, I rested. When my legs ached, I sat or refrained from pushing myself physically, without needing to explain or justify. I think peace-of-mind is crucial for people with any form of MS and being open and honest is how I have found it.

On the 1st April I return to St. Georges for my second annual intravenous treatment, Ocrevus - April fools day. I am not as apprehensive as I was the first time around because I did not loose my quality of life which was my criteria for choosing this experimental drug in the first place, so I will keep you all informed with regards to this round of treatment.

Lots of love, Antoinette
